When you set up your vault you're shown a one-time recovery code. If you turn on Plus backup, it's the only thing that can restore your documents on a new device — we never receive it, so we can't recover it for you. Write it down and keep it safe.
With Plus backup on, install Vault Scribe on the new device and enter your recovery code when asked. Your encrypted documents are downloaded from your private iCloud and decrypted on-device.
Plus is an auto-renewing subscription billed through your Apple ID. Manage or cancel it anytime in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone.
Every extracted date is a suggestion you confirm, and you can edit any of them. Extracted dates are estimates to help you stay organised — always verify the official date on GOV.UK or your original document.
